Viva Las Vegas! We started off our vacation by staying at Circus Circus. Boy was that Fun with a capital F! Can you see me amongst all of the prizes that Christian and the kids won? I went back to the hotel room to take a nap and woke up to all of these fun things and some really excited kids...and hubby. He's really good at playing carnival games apparently.
Then we headed to Salt Lake City, UT for general conference where we stayed with our friends, the Sirrines. On Saturday, we met up with Eric and Jenn there in Utah for Riverdance, saw the SLC Temple, Joseph Smith Memorial Building and the old Tabernacle.
Christian, Eric, and our friend Brian Sirrine went to the Priesthood session while us girls played at Aunt Loni's house. After Priesthood session, The Sirrines, Eric and Jenn, Christian and I met for dinner at the Garden Restaurant at the top of the Joseph Smith memorial building...and it was not easy to do. Us girls were there thinking we could arrive early to reserve a table until our husbands got out of priesthood but the restaurant wouldn't let us in until our full party was there. We were so early but couldn't get in until the hubby's joined us. We kept watching as the men started arriving and coming in and the more we watched the more we didn't think we'd get to eat there. I text Christian to run or we weren't going to get a table. They got there 1 minute before the last table was to be given away. They ran up the stairs while other husbands took the elevator and they were able to head them off in time to get to the last table. Fun times!! And it was delicious by the way, in case you were wondering. Well worth it to eat there. This was the view from that upper floor.
Eric and Jenn, you guys look fantastic if I do say so myself...and I do.
We woke up Sunday morning to fresh, fluffy snow. The kids thought it was awesome and so did I! It was so beautiful. We got to the Temple and the grounds were slushy but so pretty. What a cool morning it was walking through the snow falling on top of us, going to the tabernacle for the morning session of conference.
Here we are in the tabernacle! I sat down in my seat and was a little emotional for a bit because I've always wanted to be in the same room as the a Prophet and to see General Conference in person. And I was sitting right next to some of my very best friends which made the event so much more special for me.
After conference we went to load up our van and gather our kids so we could head out. But not before we got to play in the snow. After we said our fun but sad goodbyes to the Sirrine family, we headed back to Las Vegas to spend one more fun night at Circus Circus.
This time we stayed on the 32nd floor. Dane thought Las Vegas was quite the site from our hotel window. Christian won yet another guitar and helicopter since he'd mastered the games.

Then we headed home to Arizona, but not before we stopped at the Hoover Dam to take a look around. It was a vacation full of firsts for me and the kids. First time to Las Vegas, first time seeing General Conference in the tabernacle, and a first time for me stopping to see the Hoover Dam.
